What is the main difference between TCP and UDP?

  1.   UDP packets stream over the network and are hence more suitable for voice and video traffic, whereas TCP packets take non-contiguous routes.
  2.   TCP checks that packets have arrived at their destination and resends packets which appear not to have arrived. UDP sends packet and does not attempt to check whether they have arrived at their destination or not.
  3.   TCP manages flow control more efficiently.
  4.   TCP is regarded as a cleaner and more efficient protocol than UDP.
